John Reno: Music
Summer Love
(John Reno & The Half-Fast Creekers)
John Reno Veillon
I spent the summer of 1979 in Panama. You could say that I got friendly with the natives.... well, one of them anyway.
The summer was fine
The world was mine
Then I met you and before I knew
We were spending time
It didn't take long
To find that we belong
My head was so clear when you where near
How could this be wrong
Worlds away but I can still see your face
Cast my memory back to the time and place
But the summer slipped away
And I couldn't stay
I remember the nights you held so tight
And waited for the day
Tropical vegitation and afternoon libations
A typical day spent this way
A seductive immigration
Oh Sybil Angele
Though you could never tell
I was so in love with you
From the moment that I met you
I prayed that one day I'd catch you
On the rebound; starting new
So wait a minute girl
Open up your world
Long enough, till you can see
That I've been waiting in the rafters
A thousand morning afters
Only you can set me free
